Everybody knows the iconic design of Louis Vuitton handbags, with their highly recognizable monogram canvas. But guess what? Louis Vuitton is not all about the classic monogrammed trunks. For their Fall 2010 collection, the brand created a handbag with a subtler design – the Louis Vuitton Cuir GrainĂ© Doctor’s Bag.
The handbag looks pretty traditional for a typical LV handbags, with no extra zippers and pockets and the limited hardware. This time, the designers of the company decided against bright colors – the bag has a nice muted taupe look. The grayed brown tone makes the fine, smooth leather of the bag stand out.
The Louis Vuitton Doctor’s Bag might look classic to the point of old-fashioned, but unless you pair it with an entirely retro outfit, it will just add a touch of retro glamour to it. The vintage ’50s style is going to be a very popular trend this season.
It is not so easy to discern that the bag has the classic Speedy shape behind the untypical midcentury design. The brand’s designers have done a good job of adapting it for this bag model.
Surprisingly so, the Louis Vuitton Cuir GrainĂ© Doctor’s Bag is not the first doctor’s handbags produced by LV. About a year ago, for their Spring/Summer 2009 collection, the brand launched the Louis Vuitton’s Naxos Doctor Bag. This interpretation of the doctor’s bag matches the Louis Vuitton Cuir GrainĂ© Doctor’s Bag in terms of sturdiness, wear comfort and reliability.
